I suppose I should make one thing very clear right from the top:
The “Guy Incognito” bit is not a real attempt at concealment or subterfuge.
It’s a Simpsons reference that makes me laugh that also felt like a funny conceptual peg to work from. I’m not seriously out here trying to conceal my identity (or else I’d be doing a much better job of it).

So what ARE we doing here?
I go into more detail elsewhere, but the short answer is “traditional blogging.”
The editorial vision (inasmuch as there is one) is best summed by this, from Kurt Vonnegut’s 1973 intro to Breakfast of Champions.
“I think I am trying to clear my head of all the junk in there—the assholes, the flags, the underpants… I think I’m trying to make my head as empty as it was when I was born onto this damaged planet fifty years ago.”
Kurt Vonnegut
Could I do this on my “real” website? Sure. But that site was designed for professional traffic and as a repository for my various creative endeavors. There’s not really a natural spot for this, which is more “screaming into a pillow on the internet.”
By the way…I hope you like pop culture references!
There’s an episode of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” where the crew encounters an alien race that communicates entirely though metaphors and references to ancient myth. My writing’s not quite that bad, but I do tend to lean hard on sports and pop culture references.
Speaking in impenetrable references didn’t work out too well for poor Captain Dathon, so when I’m not at least 90-percent sure a normal person will get it, I’ll try to link directly to a reference YouTube clip or GIF. Hopefully that’ll help with whatever larger point I’m trying to make. Just watch me for the changes and try and keep up, alright?
